Dear all,
The purpose of this email is to inform you of a new call for papers for a proposed special issue of Critical Discourse Studies<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.tandfonline.com_journals_rcds20&d=DwMFAw&c=KXXihdR8fRNGFkKiMQzstpt6drHDqSenG-8Qi3URQqo&r=9nTmsjcdmg4CdMYVjBUwOLUGc0a0qcyyxyM6IVTn8B8&m=vj-4_F328uJtBoeyYOrMSnxbFwSgfTDLz5ZLI31yEK5QrkPLLjPbQUSPevykfsVl&s=vvsmE7bZLNo0P5smwxWNpdHPfqhlWxvBClhrzpW2Dkw&e=>, entitled 'The Language of the Manosphere: Global Perspectives'.
With this special issue, my colleagues and I hope to bring together current linguistics research into the manosphere, networked online misogyny, and online antifeminist backlash. We are especially interested in receiving contributions which focus on contexts and social media platforms outside of the UK and the USA, where the data covers languages other than English, and/or contributions which posit concrete, research-based interventions to these issues. Please see the full CFP for more detail:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VZwNAbxjc2NJDvbjo_W_FUJevJoBJaCbfLirn40jKF4/edit?usp=drives
If you have any current work or ongoing projects which would suit this special issue, then we invite you to submit an extended abstract (1500 words) to Veronika Koller (v.koller at lancaster.ac.uk<mailto:v.koller at lancaster.ac.uk>). The deadline for abstract submission is December 1st 2024. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the special issue.
Best wishes,
Jessica Aiston (on behalf of Veronika Koller, Alexandra Krendel, and Mark McGlashan)
