Dear All,



We are pleased to announce an online *International Workshop* on *“Data
Centres for AI: Global Expansion and the Environment**"*, organized
by Human Sciences Research Centre, *IIIT Hyderabad, India* in collaboration
with Global Digital Cultures Research Group,* King’s College London, UK.* The
workshop will take place virtually from IIIT on *October 9th and October
23rd, 2024, *from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM IST.



The focus of this workshop is to address the pressing environmental
challenges that have arisen in various parts of the world, particularly in
the Global South, due to the rapid proliferation of data centres. Our goal,
through this workshop, is to provoke meaningful conversations on this
critical theme and to set new research agendas that highlight the
intersection of data infrastructure and environmental sustainability. We
are excited to host leading experts from across the globe to share their
