Journal: Mobile Media and Communication
Special Issue on Mobile AI: Consolidating Mobile Media & Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
Guest Editors: Yifan Xu, Adriana de Souza e Silva
This special issue aims at exploring the ways AI systems are embedded into mobile communication practices and technologies by investigating the social and cultural implications of mobile AI — specifically how they shape mobile communication and mobility in everyday life. 
Topics might include, but are not limited to:
Mobile AI and the Digital Economy
Mobile AI, Creativity, and Labor
Mobile AI and Language
Affective Mobile AI
Power, Agency, and Mobile AI
Ethical and Environmental Dimensions
Global and Local Mobilizations of Mobile AI
The Social Psychology of Mobile AI

Submit short commentary papers (up to 3,000, including references) that contextualize and understand the phenomenon beyond the new AI hype by October 31st, 2025.
