Dear colleagues,

With the advance of a political sentiment hostile to scholarship and science, our conference gained even more urgency. On April 7 and 8 we will gather in Utrecht (NL) for a workshop conference on societal impact through collaborative research, we bring action research to critical data and AI studies.

This conference is not a platform for presenting papers but for engaging actively in discussing challenges of collaborative research and learning about good practices. We share and train skills, develop capacities, define objectives and plan for action.

The programme is now online: Making a Difference. Societal Impact through collaborative research https://impact.dataschool.nl/

  *
Our keynote speakers are Rob Kitchin, Payal Arora and Minna Ruckenstein.
  *
Our workshops cover university-industry collaboration, measuring impact, team science, gen(der) AI safety, multiple stakeholder collaboration, AI ethics in media, and more.

Our conference takes place a couple of days before the AlgoSoc Conference, the Future of Public Values in the Algorithmic Society, in Amsterdam, which gives you an opportunity to visit both conferences.

Also, check out our open access volume Collaborative Research for the Datafied Society. Methods and Practices of Investigation and Intervention:

We hope to see many of you in Utrecht at our conference.
Best wishes,
mirko
