Call for abstracts! Upcoming deadline!

Submission deadline 15 March.

The ESRC Centre for Sociodigital Futures, University of Bristol and the Southern Centre for Digital Transformation, University of Naples, are looking for researchers to join us in Naples this September for a conference panel event exploring the methodological challenges of sociodigital research. 

Are you:

  * Researching the entanglement of the social and digital in contemporary life?
  * Questioning the limits of conventional non-digital and digital methods?
  * Adapting or creating new research methods?

CenSoF are also leading a hands-on exploration of Chatbots in use to explore sociological engagement with Large Language Models.

About the conference
The eleventh International Sociological Association conference on ‘Logic and Methodology’ takes place in Naples between 22-25 September 2025. It is hosted by Department of Social Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Organised by the Research Committee on Logic and Methodology in Sociology of the International Sociological Association, the conference is attended by academics from a variety of fields and is relevant to anyone interested in research methods linked to social topics.

There are lots of sessions including those covering online communities, data visualisation, future visions, creativity, participatory methods, queer methods, AI and data. You can find more information on these, and more, at the link above.

About the Centre for Sociodigital Futures
These sessions are being co-convened by the ESRC Centre for Sociodigital Futures (CenSoF) <https://www.bristol.ac.uk/research/centres/sociodigital-futures/> - a flagship research centre led by the University of Bristol in collaboration with 12 other Universities in the UK and globally. Founded in 2022, the Centre brings together world-leading expertise from Social Sciences, Engineering and the Arts, as well as partner organisations and businesses. Together, we create new approaches to sociodigital research and explore sociodigital futures-in-the-making.
