[Air-L] New book: pioneering Usenet newsgroups in astrophysics

this email is for those of you who are interested in early internet history.

Please be informed that a new book has been published

“On some Pioneering Usenet Newsgroups in Astrophysics”. I am the author.

It is true that the subject is disciplinary, but some major steps in the
evolution of Usenet newsgroups at large have been conveyed. Also, an
insight into the perception and use of these early cmc tools by the
research community concerned has been tentatively given.

The book is open access. At the moment it can be found on the publisher’s
website at

but it will be made available also - e.g. - on my ResearchGate account in
the next future.
