Dear Colleagues
I hope you are all doing well.
The LIS Bibliometrics Committee is looking for two new colleagues to join
us: a new Blog Manager and Deputy Blog Editor to look after our The
Bibliomagician – Comment & practical guidance from the LIS-Bibliometrics
community <https://thebibliomagician.wordpress.com/> and continue the
excellent work of our colleagues Rachel Miles and Laura Bredahl all these
years.
The Bibliomagician blog is a highly regarded source used by practitioners,
scholars, and others. You will have a key role in caring for this jewel!
*Lis-Bibliometrics Committee Role Descriptions*
*Blog Manager*
The Blog Manager is committed to the following:
- Ensure that the blog editors consist of one Blog Manager and up to 2
Deputy Blog Editors
- Ensure that blog posts happen on a regular basis at approximately 1
post per month.
- Ensure consistency in the entire blog posting process by leading the
solicitation and management of posts with or through the Deputy Blog
Editors. This includes:
- identifying potential authors,
- soliciting content,
- editing,
- signing of authorship agreement,
- posting and
- communications associated with the dissemination of the blog post.
- Time commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per month split between all
blog editors.
*Deputy Blog Editor*
The Deputy Blog Editor is committed to the following:
- Working with the Blog Manager to ensure that blog posts happen on a
regular basis at approximately 1 post per month.
- Working with the Blog Manager to ensure consistency in the entire blog
posting process. This includes:
- solicitation and management of posts
- identifying potential authors,

The Committee meets face-to-face once a year (usually at the annual
conference) and virtually about three times a year, to move forward with
the group's work. Committee terms are usually for two years, with the
possibility of extension for a further term. If you are interested in
joining, please could you reply to me by Monday 21 April with a short
statement (max 300 words) saying why you’d like to join the group and what
you could bring to that role.
