Humans interested in the human experience can use technology as an interview medium and setting. But there is more involved with online interviews than simply logging in. Careful thought is needed to decide what options best fit the project. Text-based or multimedia? Synchronous or asynchronous? Structured or conversational? I'm writing about interviews in a qualitative research context this month - with tips that also apply to interviews you might do as a journalist or writer outside of academia. This newsletter offers an overview and the next will discuss preparing for and conducting interviews online using varied technologies. On Substack: https://tinyurl.com/459ztrcd
