The Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries (MCCI), School of
Communication and Creativity (SCC), City St George's, University of London
(CSG) invites you to *MCCI Connect*: A Seminar Series Bridging Research,
Innovation, Education, and Professional Practice!
Please join us for the 2nd event of its 2025/26 academic year where *MCCI
Connect* welcomes an amazing panel on 'Graphic Refuge' with Dr Dominic
Davies, MCCI and Prof. Candida Rifkind, University of Winnipeg with Dr
Ernesto Priego, CSG and Dr Mihaela Precup, University of Bucharest. Graphic
Refuge is the first in-depth study of comics about refugees, asylum
seekers, migrants, and detainees by artists from the Global North and South

*MCCI Connect* aims to foster connections between traditionally siloed
areas, encouraging interdisciplinary and cross-sector dialogue. Our focus
is emphasising integration and collaboration through these events which are
organised by MCCI Research Lead, Dr Carolina Matos and supported by MCCI
Presidential Fellow, Dr Devina Sarwatay.
This event is free and open to the public, with prior registration required
for both in-person and online attendance. Light refreshments will be
provided to in-person attendees. Attendees are encouraged to share their
experiences on social media using the hashtag *#MCCIConnect* and
*#CityStGSCC*.
We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of critical dialogue
bridging research, innovation, education, and professional practice! Please
