Hi AoIR,

In September, we hosted an event here in Toronto entitled Workers Governing Technologies, which brought together 20 speakers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Spain, and the US, representing unions, co-operatives, social movements, policymakers, and universities. I would now like to invite you to watch this series of short videos as one of the outcomes of the event.

Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ1PImwoWGA&list=PLBkJLI8oXeXd6YyAY44qZ1mGVFhM9YZDY

In early 2026, we will publish a collective document with the syntheses and contributions that emerged from this event. Stay tuned!

The project Workers Governing Technologies is co-funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), the Creative Labour and Critical Futures project (CLCF), the Brazilian Institute of Science and Technology / Informational Sovereignty and Disputes (INCT/DSI), the Institute for Inclusive Economies and Sustainable Livelihoods (IIESL/ UTSC), the Centre for Learning, Social Economy & Work at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (CLSEW/ OISE/UofT), and the Knowledge Media Design Institute (KMDI/ UofT).
