Gail and fellow authors,

Books on the settlement list are the ones that fit their criteria. Other lists are circulating online, but those books aren’t necessarily covered by this settlement. Visit www.anthropiccopyrightsettlement.com<https://www.anthropiccopyrightsettlement.com/> and search for your titles.

See more info on the TAA site here:
https://www.taaonline.net/anthropic-settlement
Info from the Authors Guild is here:

Hope that helps!
Janet

Thank you, Janet! What is the time frame covered by the settlement (you mentioned "Also, the fact that they ripped off your books is not enough: the "list" represents a narrow time frame. In my case, 6 books are in the database of stolen books but only one was taken during the time period covered by the settlement.")? Thanks so much!

Gail

First, before you start eyeing a new yacht, keep in mind that the promised
$3K per book settlement is split between authors and publishers. They are
recommending a 50/50 split but that will be up to the publisher. I'm trying
to find out what academic publishers plan to do and will share that
information if/when I get it."

I would add that, of course, that 50/50 split is the case only if the
publisher still has rights to the books in question. Most of my books are
science fiction novels, and I got the rights back over a decade ago.

All the best, Paul
