The Department of Communication at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, is accepting applications for the Fall 2026 cohort of PhD students.



Communication at Carolina is a critical, interdisciplinary, and inquiry-driven doctoral program that trains students in Performance Studies, Rhetoric, Cultural Studies, Media & Technology Studies, Interpersonal & Organizational Communication, and Media Arts, with over 30 full-time faculty and around 50 PhD students currently enrolled. The deadline for applications is December 2nd, 2025.



The Department will be hosting a virtual open house and information session Wednesday October 8th, 2025, 3-5p, Eastern Time.
