[Air-L] query on publishers agreements for AI-related licensing

Dear AOIR members,

I'm curious to know whether any of you have experience with publishers
offering you to sign an opt-in agreement for an AI-related licensing
concerning your publications with them. This is a new experience for me and
while it promises the opportunity for some compensation (royalty payment of
20% of net receipts attributable to my work) as a result of companies
wishing to licence publishers' content in the development and provision of
generative AI technologies, I've heard differing views about the pros and
cons of signing.  I'd be interested in any feedback you might offer to help
me make my decision. But I am sure that this is also of interest to the
wider AOIR community and the future use of their published outputs.
