is seeking to fill a full-time, <br>
tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning <br>
Fall 2003:<br>
The Department of Communication announces a tenure-track position for
<br>
a scholar with a primary research and teaching interest in the <br>
political economy of cultural industries--television, film, music, <br>
publishing, or other cultural industries, including internet <br>
industries, and the way cultural production is affected by the <br>
interplay of the old and new economies. We are especially interested
<br>
in work on the nature of media markets or the production process, <br>
regulation and the relation of cultural industries to the state, or
<br>
relations between the cultural industry and other political actors,
<br>
including social movements. This could also include a focus on the <br>
way race, gender, ethnicity, national identity or sexuality shape --
<br>
or are shaped by -- cultural industries.<br>
Salaries are in strict accordance with UC pay scales. If non-citizen,
