<div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><span>Dear colleagues, </span><div><br></div><div>As part of the 2025–2026 edition of the "Digital Materialities" seminar, the eighth session of the year will be held on <b>Wednesday, 27 May (4:00-6:00 pm, CET)</b>, both online and at Sciences Po Paris (1 place Saint-Thomas d’Aquin, 75007).</div><div><br></div><div>We are delighted to welcome <a href="https://www.devikanarayan.com/" title="Devika Narayan"><b>Devika Narayan</b></a>, Lecturer at the University of Bristol, for a presentation entitled: </div><div style="text-align:center" align="center"><h1><font size="4">"Between the Cloud and a Hard Place: A thesis on technological transformation"</font></h1></div><div><b>Abstract</b>: This talk will offer a perspective on digital transformation that melds
sociotechnical analysis of computing infrastructure with industrial and
organisational political economy. The old-fashioned, unglamourous
computer industry has given way to a much more pervasive and powerful
tech sector. I will explore this shift to discuss the material practices
of acceleration, resulting in capitalist volatility.
