<div class="x_elementToProof" data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">The <em>Department of Communication and Culture</em> at BI Norwegian Business School (Oslo, Norway) invites applications for a 4-year postdoctoral research fellow position as part of the Research Council of Norway (FRIPRO) project "DISTINCT – Digital Status and Its Social and Technological Construction".</div>

<div class="x_elementToProof">The project investigates how digital status markers (e.g., likes, ratings, endorsements and algorithmic signals) shape social and economic inequality across digital platforms and generative AI systems. We are looking for a candidate with strong qualitative research skills and an interest in digital technologies, communication, sociology or related fields. The position offers good resources for data collection, international collaboration, conference participation and research stays.</div>
