[Assam] AAU filed an FIR against theV.C. of Tezpur Central University

FIR against Tezpur V-C
           OUR CORRESPONDENT                            Jorhat, Aug. 4: The Assam Agricultural University (AAU) today filed an FIR against the vice-chancellor of Tezpur Central University, P.C. Deka, on charges of opening a bank account in the AAU’s name without taking permission from the university authorities.
           Deka opened the account with the Jorhat branch of United Bank of India when he was dean of AAU from 1999 to 2004. The FIR has been filed at Jorhat police station. Sources said Deka opened the account to deposit funds given by different agencies for research and other work. The AAU came to know about the account in November last year and referred the matter to Governor Lt Gen.(retd) Ajai Singh. 
           Sources said the governor discussed the matter with the President and Raj Bhavan asked AAU to file a complaint against Deka early this week.
