Dear Baruah,
A hanging bridge (or a cable-stay bridge) will ruin the view. The bridge must be a low-level spandrel arch without interfering with the view of Umananda.
The bridge should span from SP Bunglow to Samsiddhi Shila (proposed new name of Karmanasha rock), next span from Samsiddhi Shila to Urvashi rock, and a few more spans from Urvashi Shila to Umananda.
I imagine a west facing marble statue of Swargadev Chakradhwaj Singha to replace the existing pillar on the rock of Urvashi. When seen from the steps of Kacharighat in Guwahati on a clear afternoon, this pure white statue, lighted by a setting sun, will shine bright against the deep green background of Umananda
I also suggest a complete renovation and redesign of the Kacharighat as a tourist observation deck, to be dedicated to the late Dr. Suryakumar Bhuyan as "Suryabhuyan Ghat" --- the historian who wrote the books "Atan Buragohain and His Times" & "Lachit Barphukan and His Times" and many other authentic treatise.
I am sending a copy of this letter to my friends Shri Dhirendra Nath Bezbaruah and Shri Indrajit Baruah, and also to assam.net for their consideration and support. The Government plan for a hanging bridge (or a cable-stay bridge) must be modified.
If I get a photograp[h, I could express the idea in a conceptual picture.
With the best wishes,
Himendra

Dear Borthakur
Warm regards.
I am back from Assam. I went to take the photograph and then the bombshell. The goverment has already planned a footbridge to umananda and beyond and the job is expected to start soon. Unconfirmed report suggests that it will be a hanging bridge.
I was very pleased to see a lot of change in infrastructure in Assam. I found feverish activities speciality in road construction in all over Assam. They are trying to beautify the river bank and are removing encrachments forcefully.
I would like to remind you about my sons marriage that will be solemonized in absolute traditional ways at Assam from 3rd to 7th of December. We will be elated if you can plan your visit to coincide with these dates.
Pl convey our regards and love to mrs borthakur.
