You may be right here, I may have chewed more than I can bite

A Czar to dictate laws would be bad indeed. Haven’t given that much
thought when I wrote in response to Umesh’s comment.

It is my observation that the West treats Hindu’s more like pagan
worshippers because as someone indicated to me when I was a Engineering
student in the early eighties that most major religions are theological in
nature. The word of God coming straight from God type
.. We the Hindu’s
however do not have an origin for our religion. The word of God like the
Geeta upadesha comes much later in chronology. Did you ever meet somebody
who wanted to become a Hindu and did not know how to? Most people say that
to be a Hindu, you have to be born a Hindu.. And since Hinduism does not
proselytize. Sorry folks, try ISCON or some other baba
. We have
Sankracharyas in India, how often do you see them denounce atrocities in
the name of religion, or see them shaking hands with the President of
America or anybody big outside the country. Whereas the Dalai Lama is more
well educated, well versed with current affairs and also is a source of
inspiration and leadership. On the other hand we have probably never heard
of the other two Sankracharys’s in India. Only the one in the South is
well known, but for different reasons
We have heard his name tarnished
with murder, woman, nepotism, misuse of funds
..If I am a Hindu, I would
not folks like him to represent the religion.

My idea of a certified priesthood is because not all Hindu’s can perform
all the traditional rituals. Pooja’s don’t have to be in Sanskrit. God, if
he exists should not be have a language barrier. For people who want to
follow ancient traditions and perform the poojas in Sanskrit as their
forefathers did, somebody needs to follow the tradition as a profession,
which means he provides a service and earns his livelihood with it. In
matters of death, marriage etc
.. there are specific rituals, I am sure
not everybody would like to invest their time to learn them.

Regarding castes and its existence

.
Castes in India exists because we perpetuate it. The Government, the
people, and the politicians
.
These are all vote banks. Nobody wants to loose them, that
