This after the GOI makes a goodwill gesture by suspension of military ops.
Anyone wants to to venture what the GOI will do next?

Two killed in India grenade blast
*Two people have been killed and five others injured in a grenade explosion
in north-eastern Indian state of Assam, police say. *

The attack took place in the state's northern town of Duliajan. Three
policemen were among those injured.

Police told the BBC that rebels aimed the grenade at a police roadblock.

The blast came after the Indian government suspended military operations
against United Liberation Front of Assam (Ulfa) separatists.

Earlier Ulfa activists had thrown a grenade at the house of a former
minister, but it did not explode, police said.

Ulfa is one of the most powerful separatist groups fighting Indian security
forces in the north-east.

It has been fighting for an independent state for more than 25 years.
Thousands of people have been killed in the violence.

*Unusual move *

The rebels had called for a suspension of Indian military action before
holding any direct talks with officials from Delhi.

Federal Interior Secretary VK Duggal said the move to suspend military
action from Monday was a "goodwill gesture".

"We expect the Ulfa to reciprocate in a similar manner", he said.

During the past week a series of bombing attacks in Assam has left 10 people
dead and 50 wounded.

Correspondents say the Indian government's decision to halt military action
for 10 days is seen as unusual move, at a time when it usually increases
security in the north-east in advance of Independence Day celebrations.

Ulfa is holding peace negotiations with the Indian government through a
committee of civil society leaders called the People's Consultative Group
(PCG).
