The Centre may extend the suspension of the anti-ULFA operation in Asom by
another 10 days. While PCG members Mamoni Roisom Goswami and Rebati Phukan
are scheduled to meet national security adviser MK Narayanan and home
secretary VK Duggal on Friday, indications are rife that Asom would be in
for some more reprieve. During the meeting, the release of five top ULFA
leaders are likely to figure prominently. The upcoming meeting is considered
in the conscious circle as another stepping stone in the path towards peace
in the state.
