[Assam] Fwd: Demands for Separate states in India

Do we create new states for the sake of such benefits or  do we create states 
because a particular area (with a large section of people)  need a state 
because the existing state governance is unable to do a good  job? 
This is a proper question. But I think I am not the right man to answer  this 
question for the simple reason that I am perhaps a little  xenophobic. 
Yes, we do create new states or some such thing for the benefits of a few  or 
in an area as you suggest. And this is POLITICS.  
Just one example. India has about 800 Parliamentarians (Lok Sabha plus  Rajya 
Sabha) to govern the country with more than a billion people. UK has more  
than thousand MPs (House of Commons plus House of Lords) for a population of  
mere sixty million.  
Decisions are always taken by a handful of people, whatever the size of  the 
constituency. Do you think, therefor, the above statistics justified? And  the 
huge expenses incurred?  
There are better examples to support my contention but at the moment I  
cannot recall them. There is one I can refer to but I am not doing that  just at 
the moment as  I am personally involved. 
However, none of them has  yet produced an Ian Smith.  
Let me not quarrel with you.  
So far as the remainder of the queries, you do not seem to require any  
categorical response. So I stop.  Oh! No. Just the last one. 
Why should he be accountable to  anyone? 
He would be still accountable to his party. But nobody would dare to  stand 
up to a Prime Minister like the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
