C-da,

Do you want to take more credit than is due for your own achievements. Do you want to say that all your achievements have been due to only your own efforts --and that there was no role of your genes, your upbringing, your enviornment. Ofcourse, you do not believe in God than why bring God into the argument.

****And those who DO get ahead obviously do so because of their god-given-gift?

  Regards.

  Umesh

*** I have big trouble with this perception harbored by so many, otherwise bright and capable people in our midst.

Are we to believe that as long as one is ENDOWED with some such obviously 'innate' ability , will get ahead, regardless----? And therefore those who do not, are NOT deserving to begin with, it being their 'own damn fault' ? And those who DO get ahead obviously do so because of their god-given-gift?

Tell me that is NOT what you meant here BK. It will be extremely disappointing if you did :-).

Chandan/Umesh As Indians, we feel happy to get good news about our expatriate friends in spite of the ground realities of which I am keenly aware. Have no intention to make a song and dance about it. Most able will race ahead, whether it is USA or Namti. Despite barriers like age, sex, colour, creed, want of prescribed qualifications, family connections, etc. This particular kind of ability â*“ I am speaking from experience â*“ some of us do possess, particularly in India.
