*Prasanta Sarma passes away

 NEW DELHI, Aug 30 – Prasanta Kumar Sarma, former chairman of Central Board
of Direct Taxes (CBDT), passed away following a prolonged illness at
Indraprastha Apollo Hospital here today. An officer belonging to the Indian
Revenue Service (IRS), Sarma went up to the top to serve as the chairman of
the CBDT. After his retirement, he was appointed as member of the Telecom
Regulatory Authority of India
