This is to inform all my Respected Patrons. It was the concluding ceremony of Golden Jubilee Celebration of Tinsukia College. One of the Premier Educational Institutions in Assam. Nov 22nd to 25th 2006, were the Red Letter Days in my career. These were the days when the different programs were scheduled to mark the occasion, including my Exhibition.

Dr. Risi Das. The Chief Editor of the Souvenir , (ABHIGYAN) Rang up to do a cover page of the same. It was a proud privilege for me to have received such a prestigious offer to do a bit for my own college, as an alumnus . Meanwhile Mr. Rajiv Bordoloi ( Head, Department of Physics ) Exhibition in charge, gave me an official invitation to put up an exhibition in the stall that would be provided to me. It was also like a dream-come-true opportunity for me to show my work in front my own crowd. For which I would be ever grateful to the Celebration committee and to the college.

I did not put up my works on the stall, as it was a narrow accommodation. Therefore, with due permission I took out my works from Stall to the Open Air. It was a unique exhibition in its kind . way close to the common people. My intention was to bring Painting close to Peoples’ heart and touch. I asked them to touch and feel them. I wanted to convey a message that Art is never an inaccessible thing.

People from all walks of life turned out to see the works. Their instant reactions, blended with their natural smile were, what I received as Reward, that gave me an immeasurable satisfaction. It seemed to me like, probably I could do at least something with my little bits, for those to bring back a little drop of smile and pleasure, what they missed out long back. If Art is for Peoples sake then I think this is how Art serve them.

I made my own setting for the display, which people liked the most, apart from the works. To my utter surprise, around 10% of Tinsukia’s population visited my site. Tinsuka’s Cable Service did a lot to spread the message to the mass. People turned up in such a big number, as if they were thirsty to see something new. According to them it was a sensational exhibition and works that People of Assam have ever seen. To them it was only this show what brought them there and gave the entire celebration a different edge. Every one of them were in suggestion, ‘Why aren’t you moving out and Show Our talent to the Rest of the World”. I smiled and took their Blessings!

The very expected thing of the show was that every thing was good but selling.

I wish ,if I could show you some of the news coverage. Actually due to some misunderstanding with the celebration Committee, The Press Club boycotted the Celebration.

See a few glimpses of the Show.

Tridib. Please See my Entire Works at
