[Assam] US army needs : what can you do for your..?

I got any email from US Amry recruitment - it seems I miised the deadline by about six months -due to overage. If you not on active duty you cannot be considered for fast citizenship -even if you are having Green Card. Anyhow, I mioght be getting the teaching job I have been taking math tests for the past few weeks. They heeded my plea for quick decision and conducted mock tutoring today only. Decison on Thursday -seems positive.

  It seems if someone has served in US military then if the "executive command" recommends your case as "Special Immigrant" then you can get Green Card real fast. I wonder why it would recommend someone who cannot join without one. You cannot join without Green Card -but if you have already joined - you can get one. Good circlular logic (unless you are from Guam, Micornesia, Puerto Rico etc -whose citizne are eligible to join without Green Cards).

  PS: Here are the basic qualifications for enlistment include being from 17 
to 34 years old for the Regular Army (active) and 17 to 39 years old 
for the Army Reserves, be a U.S. citizen or resident alien, (must have 
the I-551) have a high school diploma or equivalent, be single with no 
children or married with 2 or less children, pass the ASVAB test and the 
physical.  You could also not be undergoing any civil actions; certain 
law violations will disqualify you

  Hi,

     It was a long discussion with the surprised army rcruitment official but even after discussing over phone wioth his colleagues and checking the army regulations book - it was clear I need a Green Card [Resident Alien Card] to enlist. Maybe in some cases army really wants some guys fast into its fold -maybe there the accelrated Green Card works out. Though I hear rumours that some children born outside USA of illegal immigrants have enrolled in the army and became citizens fast. 

     I am trying the regular way now - taking tests for math teaching (and even sciecne tomorrow at the tutoring center) and might propose to someone special - n time to delay it anymore.

     Any comments (from Mukul-da esp.)

     PS: It was a good exercise anyway - I feel psychologically and emotionally more linked to this land now - as Kennedy 
said -written near his bust at http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/artist_detail.cfm?artist_id=AYDOGDUHUS and see the video of the Turkish performance --quite like Punjabi-Rajasthani folk dance and music
