Bijit Gogoi lifts Federation Cup

 GUWAHATI, March 20 — Former Mr India Bijit Gogoi made Asom proud by winning the Mr India 2006 Federation Cup crown in the all India bodybuilding championship held at Mangalore last night.

Bijit, who won the Mr India crown in 2004 when the championship was held at Jorhat, was apparently deprived of the Mr India title in the recently held championship in Mumbai.

Talking to the Assam Tribune from Mumbai, Bijit said that it was a tough competition as about 150 top bodybuilders from all over the country took part in it. Bijit further said that the organisers, Indian Bodybuilding Federation (IBBF), presented him a Maruti Omni along with the medal and other presents.

The IBBF president Madhab Pujari said that it was another remarkable day for Asom bodybuilding as Bijit won the Champion of the Champions title in the meet outsmarting other bodybuilders of the country.
