Dilip-da,

Both you and your wise son are right. Anyhow it was good to dream big. I even communicated my dreams to my former students (and also this fraud) so hopefully they would try to come on their own by getting schols etc.

Well, monday was bad for my current job as well -since one parent took away her child after she lost her cell phone on the playground. Thankully the child really liked being in my class and returned yesterday after I assured her that I would pay for her cell phone if need be. Her mother was mollified however when she came to pick up daughter. That was a priceless experience.

  Umesh

    Umesh,
Most of us who have been here for a while knew this is fraud. We just wanted you to experiment and learn. So we didn't tell you. That is part of learning, don't you agree? :-)
My older son always said, "Dad, you can sermonize all you want, but unless I try, and succed or fail, I'll not really learn." I don't agree but I'd like to hear what you teachers say.
You are ok as long as you didn't pay. I am sure you are smarter than the doctor who spent $4 million on such scams.
  Dilipda

it seems this is a fraud - butyou never know. This is the catch where they ask for money.

  Umesh

PS: maybe they m ight pay something. Today I got $50 as payment for teaching a GRE student for www.ltsprep.com . tthey owed me $140 however. In their letter they wrote my address in both the sender's and receiver's place - hiding their identity -and they claimed to be Harvard grads in their website. I had to send them emails so many times to remind the payent due since Nov 2005. Atleast they paid nearly half of it.

on the other hand I learnt that my present job is paying me $25 per hour whereas others are getting only $11 per hour. This is really run by Harvard grads and profs.

    Sir,

Thank you for the prompt reply and all the efforts in expediting the payment. I would like to state my present financial condition as an under-employed (part time) schoo l teacher I do not even have $300 to spare to send you for the tax payment for the Lottery payment. Please pay the same on my behalf and I promise to repay the same to you once I am able to access my winnings. On the other hand, as far as I know in India and US - tax is deducted from the winning before the amount is handed to the lottery winner. I request you to deduct the tax from the winnings before making the payment to if that is possible.

  Thank you for everything.

  Yours sincerely,

  Umesh Sharma

  Dear Umesh Sharma,

I got your mail earlier on and we have been processing your winnings, at the
moment, we have decided to use Fedex for the shipping of your winnings to
you, the processing is at a stage where your winning certificate and other
covering documents have to be approved by the Swedish Tax Office. The
Swedish Tax Office would require you to pay the tax fee of 425 Euro for the
tax. And in order for you to pay tax, you have to send it through Western
Union to the officer incharge, th name is

LESLIE ANDREW
TAX OFFICE
GOTEBORG
SWEDEN

Immediately you send the money through Western Union, send an email to me
with the control number so I can send it across to the officer to collect it
and have you documents approved, it is the approved documents that would
enable your money to be sent to you, and secondly the tax fee cannot be
deducted from your winnings.
Do send the money as soon as possible, so that your winnings can be sent to
you first thing tomorrow morning.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards
