Happy Columbus Day!!
Today I tried to explain to my Indian American student (12 year old) how Columbus was finding a new world (and that Indians did not live at all in Americas before or after Columbus came to "the New World" -- he was trying to find a new route to India -and found this place by mistake -so mistakes can also lead to important discoveries -thats what we concluded)
He did realize and remarked that about that time 500 years ago that Guru Nanak was founding Sikh faith and could chart Guru's route to Mecca -for Haj -then.
Quite an experience.
