Dear Dr Kalita
Ohoo kane, pohu kane we heard about your reappearance in London; then your
e-mails in Assam Net filled in the details together with your nostalgic
account of your invaluable contribution to the social and cultural life of the
Assamese community working hand in hand with Rini Kakati.
As you may kindly appreciate we were not just able to contact you. Even now,
I am taking recourse to Assam Net.
Both my wife and I had been busy domestically, details of which are, I
suppose, not anything worth mentioning here.
You mentioned in a separate e-mail about the Assamese community not being
very helpful to new arrivals in London while you experienced that fellow
students were more helpful in the matter, speaking from your own experience. It is
true. The bulk of the small Assamese community of UK consists of doctors, and
each of them while visiting the country as students had to depend on their
seniors who found employment earlier. This being the background I am inclined
to believe that your conclusion that the community is not much helpful in this
 matter is not tenable.
We are now in Spain and will return to UK after six weeks. So we hope we
would have a chance to meet you and your charming wife there. Are the children
here too?
Regards
Bhuban
