Hello Jyoti:

Welcome to the hot-air-balloon of assamnet.

Nice to see that your cold feet warmed up after
Momy's lead. Goes to show that our women are more
assertive than many of our men-folk, in spite of
the traditional misconception that they are the
'weaker-sex' and are treated as such by the
macho-men in our ranks.

>her are a couple of members in the forum who
>like to actively participate in >the discussions
>and keep it going as long as possible.

*** Isn't that terrible? They hog all that
bandwith leaving so many others itching to put a
word in sideways, out in the cold. Bad guys,
these!

What's more is that these guys also take unfair
advantage of others like you, because they have
all that time to WASTE! What is a body to do!
Life couldn't be more unfair.

But again, am glad you could get your two cents
in even if only by getting in thru the gates
behind Momy .

>I remember reading a mail from one of the
>members, who mentioned how active the >forum is
>and how erring members are "dressed down"

*** That sounds so very disgustingly arrogant,
doesn't it? I can guess though who the scoundrel
could be. My only question here is this: Do you
remember the context/s in which this villain used
those words? Or did you forget it, perhaps
conveniently?

If I remember correctly, it was about uncouth
people making personal attacks on other netters.
Wasn't it? Do you think it is improper to do that
to those who make personal attacks? What would be
your preferred response? Wait till someone like
Momy opens the gate and then sling a gob of mud
from behind that hideout?

Not cool Jyoti! Not becoming of a bright young
Oxomiya who our people are banking on to
"Jilikabo luitore' paar".

>If there is nothing to contribute from your
>experience then don't justify your >actions and
>use words like naivity.

*** Let us see now--I can't quite understand what
you are trying to say. Are you suggesting that
this unnamed villain should not have written a
sentence like "---You have shown how naive you
are about some of your assumptions, beliefs and
expectations, from the few notes you posted
here"? Would you like to tell us why? Is it a
personal insult? Is it the wrong word to use?
That we should keep our mouths shut, like
yourself for example, while doing a slow-burn;
even when someone delivers a superficial and
ill-considered verdict on the quality of this
forum, while offering little to improve it; as if
it is some kind of an entitlement; on the way out
to the door in a huff?

What?

>Your actions speak for itself, so don't point
>fingers at others. Remeber when >you point one
>finger, four of your fingers are pointing at you.

*** I learn something about new fokora-jwjonas'
everyday. Is it an ancient Oxomiya one by any
chance? I am sure it is a philosophically deep
axiom, even though it sounds more like a recent
Dilbert cartoon characters' 'colorful but
meaningless metaphors'.

> >Momy, you need to stay on and try a "redress" the actions on the net.

*** That is a good advice. I agree with you
Jyoti, unless ---- unless, you are indulging in
'randhonik usotai maasor jwl-khowa' or
'usotai-di-rong-swa' while yourself hiding in the
shadows,like you have been doing.

**** OK Jyoti--- I gave you a little more
uttom-modhyom than I usually do to young folks.
My most strident ones are usually directed to my
erring peers . Now allow me to offer an
olive-branch:

I know you and many others don't like many of my
political views about Assam's and India's
affairs. But instead of speaking your mind or
offering alternate/opposing views, you folks
remain timidly quiet, doing a slow burn. As a
well-wisher of Assam and Oxomiyas, I don't want
you guys to be like that Jyoti. Oxomiya youth
must not take things lying down. Do speak up. And
honest, I or others like me really, really don't
bite. Our views may be unpalatable to you. But
you can hold forth views that are better. This is
a forum for ideas. Present yours. You don't have
to have a degree in English to write either. No
one will get on your case for spelling mistakes
for example.

But it is not a cool idea to attack those whose
ideas you don't like, personally. That is crass.
And it shows gross immaturity. Similarly it is
not a cool idea to throw in a few slings of mud
like you did in this post either. Be brave,
CHALLENGE what you don't like, but don't behave
like a wimp.

So, here we are: PEACE BROTHER! And welcome to
our 'juhaalor-mel' :-). And let us have spirited
discussions and debates. Who knows it might even
lead to ACTION, now and then.

Best to you.
