Here is some comment by Harvard prof M. Witzel I just checked his bio http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/%7Ewitzel/mwcv.htm
and am amazed to find that he never studied in India - only briefly in Nepal and all his education in Germany only. I am sure he means well but should someone who has a degree from India be the head of Indology -- in this world of globalization will that be diffciult to get.

Maybe Michael should go to India and study under Indian gurus in Himalayas.

Any comments about "Yogins"

Umesh

Many thanks, John! The Sanchi Yogi with band around his raised knees
(yogapaTTa) was exactly the one i had in mind a few weeks months ago
(before your Sanchi trip), when this first came up, -- though I had
seen only a drawing of it.

 Cheers,
 Michael
