Pachauri or not-all the Indian refineries discharge n000Tons/day of Hydrocarbon into pristine Water Bodies .
Brahmaputra has a thin layer of oil all over--no Oxygen ever enters the water body-no plankton survives-noFish can-so whole Brahmaputra has no Fish. No fish means no River Dolphin!
Mera(High-Tech?) Bharat Mahaan!

Mathura refinery asked to stop discharges and release of waste water in river yamuna through barari drain.
UP's principal secretary urban development SR Lakha has with immediate effect asked Mathura Refinery to stop releasing waste water and effluents into the river through Barari drain.
it was in 2001 that an indian scientist in the US subijoy dutta and his colleagues of the yamuna foundation for blue water, found traces of hydro carbons in the yamuna river in agra. the samples were tested in american labs and reports sent to the CPCB. the refinery however kept denying there were any petroleum traces in the water released by it.
Last month when fish deaths were reported in quick succession, the district authorities in agra got panicky. a committee of district officials and pollution control boards of the state and central, was formed. in its report which was hushed up, the refinery was blamed for releasing petroleum like substances in the water.
local environmentalists see Friday's order by the principal secretary as a victory for their campaign. ENDS
