Sir,
Well written what I feel today.Since your brother did visited my home town kalaigaon to meet Late Karunamoy Haripad Goswamy, might also know that house of Paniram Das well known to be non religious.Thats why in 1961 visit by Acharya Binoba Bhave, decided to stay at our home during his only Assam visit.Since then we are maintaining the system.Anyone can come and cook at our kitchen. Now also there are muslim woman cooking and working.kalaigaon area widely known for this unity at per with Hajo Haigrib,I was borth with no feeling of Hindu or Muslim.Although the are dominated by Mir Jumla converted mualims- who are called Assamese muslims with no difference. The festival/cooking/all are carried out as a assamese. The muslim marriage are more unique. Same as we do.None can differentiate other than HOM jagya.Kalaigaon, Tangla, Sipajhar,Maroi,Dumunichowki,Baihata, paneri,Deomornoi,Outala etc still same as before.Marriage and love affair between all are same and so
far going on.WE do enjoy Id celebrations/Bihu/Durga puja together. NOne says NO nor Halal......... sometimes I found festival times the Dheki works day and night in the assamese muslim villages more ! There are muslims who wear dhuti!
I feel sad that none did so far could write up in this unique identity of being assamese and that made all to go away from each other.Due to some families like ours, the unity remains.
and due to all these social respect, our family can access any place in the district at any time. If anything did happened during time gap, then its our own fault.Like how Baro people gone away due to foolishness of Asam Sahitya Sabha/AASU/AGP.
Needless to say Sir.
