Success story of a banana cultivator

 MORIGAON, Dec 10 – Abdul Khalil, a farmer of Palakguri village near Amolighat in Morigaon district has showed tremendous success in banana cultivation. Khalil, a marginal farmer after hard work and sincere efforts, established a banana garden along the bank of the Kiling river which is the prime income source of this honest cultivator.

Khalil’s banana garden measuring 28 bighas of land produces several varieties of bananas and he earns Rs 40,000 per month (minimum) by selling his bananas. As such, he gave the way of livelihood to five families of marginal farmers of Palehguri village. Khalil’s bananas are supplied to Guwahati and Dimapur besides being sold at local markets at Jagiroad and Morigaon.
