[Assam] Organized for Sympathy "Vote"?

Ram Da,

In all worldly affairs we have to get our basics right, as you have correctly pointed out. We have to proceed from the basic tenets: at least a humanist view of life. Our point of departure should not be xenophobia and bias. Why I say is: I shall have to understand the feelings of an Afghan civilian, who has lost the family to CAS bombing by American planes, if he harbours 'terrorist' thoughts against the US. We have to put ourselves into his shoes before drawing up a conclusion. Else it would be a 'bias' of facts, created by facts not considered, and therefore, one-eyed.

JS,

Iraq was the wrong country to invade. Without going into it much deeper,
many in the US are now aware that Bush invaded  Iraq  for other reasons
(Oil, War economics, "he tried to kill my daddy" ) and not Sept. 11.

>he has made America safer.

Maybe, maybe not. All we know is that the US may have become more skittish.

I guess we have to thank our stars, that these aren't the only choices we
have. There are other choices, JS.

Not an action most of us would take. Imagine being an Iraqi. Only they have
been affected so deeply and directly. Saddam for all his faults, had NO part
in 9/11.
The Saudis, Egyptians, and Pakis were involved. The Saudis and Pakis were
rewarded these past 7 years (Billions of $ in Largese). The Saudis for their
part gave more oil to the US, and the Paki leadership ate all the the $$.
So, I guess, only if you are an Iraqi could one understand whether this
journalist actually lost dignity, honor. I agree, he has probably lost his
job.
