DC urged for development of district

DHEMAJI, Dec 18: The ‘Dhemaji Nagarik Santha’ expressed their resentment over the apathetic attitude, and submitted a memorandum, to the Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji to look into the burning problems of the district. 

The Santha had informed the district administration of the different problems of the district like the Arunachal-Asom Border dispute, flood damage repairing , improvement of Dhemaji Railway station , Station road repairing etc. Though the administration assured to undertake steps for the solution of the problems, in reality nothing was done so far. 

The border dispute has now become a serious threat to the people living in the Asom border where they are insecure and allegedly harassed by the Arunachali people. 

Even though the problems were known to the district administration, no appropriate measures have been taken to solve the problem so far. 
Although the Railway station was computerized but the ‘Link Failure’ problem often irritates the passengers and the waiting-room can hardly accommodate two chairs. 

There are no toilet facilities for which the passengers, specially the women suffer a lot. The DC of Dhemaji should look into the matter and inform the higher authorities for its rapid solution. 

Also the dilapidated condition of the station road with big potholes everywhere, which makes it unfit even for bicycles, is adding to the woes of various passengers. 

The Dhemaji DC should know that this is the only connecting PWD road for the people of Bishnupur and north Jamuguri panchayat to the town but nothing is being done for its development. 

Besides, the Axam Xahitya Xabha convention is going to be held in the first week of February and with the present condition of the road the convention is sure to face problems with communication.
