[Assam] Cost-effective, good quality, keep water of chemical fertilizer

Purchasing 'micro-nutrients"  for Assam! How 
ridiculous. There must have been as huge cut of 
the expenditures for someone.

Soil testing kits can be you useful, if they are 
easy to use, and  soil supplements to augment 
deficient components ( fertilizer) is easily 
available and affordable.

Assam really has no use for anything like 
"Absorbent Polymer (AP for short)Absorbent 
Polymer(In Europe, known as the hydrogel ". There 
is plenty of rainfall. All Assam needs is learn 
how to collect, store and re-use. Such chemicals 
as AP  can be benefiucial in a truly water 
deficient area ( desert/semi-desert) or highly 
sandy soils where water retention becomes 
difficult. Even that can be changed with organic 
compost.

What Assam farmers MUST learn to use is effective 
MULCHING for dry season row crops. Mulching helps:
	A: By dramatically reducing moisture loss 
by evaporation from the root-zone of row crops.
	B: By depriving sun-light, prevents weed 
seeds from germination or if germinated, by
	preventing growth.
	C: Weed prevention also preserves 
nutrients. Uncontrolled weeds reduce crop growth 
by
	over 50%.

Mulching is so basic and so essential, it is 
appalling that farmers in Assam still don't know 
about it and don't use it. I wonder what our Agri 
Colleges, their Extension services and the State 
Agri. Dept people  have been doing all these 
decades.
