Friends,

A Deccan Herald reporter happened to ask me about the experience, and I was more proud to be the son of healthy alive 92 yrs old one of the most wanted man by the British- Pani Ram Das and narated him the lovely story. He was astonished. Ironically there was bad changed by the editorials. My father ( Gold medalist of High school metric from Decca university in 1931)did jumped into Gandhijis Satyagrah in 1938 and was highly active since 1941. Since 1938 he was un noticed by the British that he could be one of the deadly freedom fighter! he was operating all from the jungles living with wild Tigers, elephants. In 1942 DEcember he did burnt down the Mangaldai Dist treasury in a commando style! The bambo and Hay building was down with ashes after 10 hours of lighting through a small rotten JAREE( Rope to tie cow).By then he walked away 60 miles towards GHY and at midnight he could see the huge fire!! On doubt the British viceroy did ordered for his head with Rs.500 dead or alive.Since he got converted into a muslim man, none could get him.
Again on 24 Sep 1942 then Assam's British chief Secy ordered shoot at sight on him and he undergone again hiding on 25 Sep 1942. Later with own assamese jealousy police did identified him on 03 Feb 1943 from a jungle and both hands tied with a big chain to the bicycle carrier, the Syhlety daroga made him to run 20 miles non stop by beating left and right to Mangaldai Police station. Later on 08 Feb 1943 he was sent to Tezpur central jail and the jail life remained till 1945 with lot many great man- meting there itself with British tortures.
His life never ends up from jail.In emergency Indira ordered his arrest and jail. during Assam agitation he most of the times remained inside jails where he used to spent during freedom struggle.
And now still he is healthy.
This is the true life of a real hero- alive with us.
  jai hind.
