It seems strange that in the rule of secular Congress govt the lecture started with a Hindu mantra -- perhaps they have started using the US model of secularism - which is a nation under God and the Parilament/Congress starts with chants from the Bible and sometimes other religious texts - like from Vedic chants - in July 2007.
