I was again reminded of my this Saturday evening dinner visit to Satyen-da's house with my students from Jaipur School.  It was the students' (sister -brother twins) first visit to an Indian family's home in the US (in the past 8 months they have been here). To say the least it was a memorable occasion. Satyen-da not only has been the first member of the North American Assamese community I met but also the key figure in DC area Assamese community. He chaired the recent Bihu celebrations in DC ( pics in the last newsletter) as many others before that.

My students' also felt instantly at home!!
what more can one ask?
