<why cant we have decntralised water plants.....if ground water is being tapped..>.
<<In fact if ANY WATER IS AVAILABLE and not just deep-tube well water/Shallow Tube well water>>
Please visit my website: www.innovation2survive.com Chapter on SAFE DRINKING WATER. My system works out @ 2KVA or today Rs 10/- for 1000 litres treated -settled and filtered
RO is a sales talk. Real RO will cost 100 times of 20 paise. Also loosely name dropped( pulling wool over your eyes) are NanoTech -Bio Tech etc.
India at this rate means not a thing by "Our own Technology" .
And 'health for all by ---' is election gimmick like River Linking.
Of course there is the Irresistible moneys to be made. Examples are shown from the top.

Naandi Foundation and Byrajjuu foundation ....and I also beleieve Tata projects are able to supply water at 10 paise per litre of good potable water...using RO/UV processes....on the condition that you buy atleast 20 litres per day that costs Rs.2/- only.......ofcourse u dont deliver to houses...that is expensive and takes another Re. 1/- per 20litres can......
if these are the economics of profit making units...their capital cost is shared ofcourse......then how are MNCs going to add value?......why cant we have decntralised water plants.....if ground water is being tapped.....as is done for many utilities....or where surface water can be transported through a single large pipe for daily storage of raw water to such spots.....localised piped connections for domestic water can be provided...exisitng connections can be used.....localised accountable managment can provide better service /response to problems......
what do we need 24 million euros for? is it possible to get project details under RTI?

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - French utility Veolia Environnement said it has won a contract worth 24 million euros to design, build and operate a new water-production plant in the city of Nagpur, central India.
The construction of the plant, with a capacity of 240,000 cubic metres a day, will last 30 months and be followed by a 15 year operating period, Veolia said in a statement.
The French group said its Veolia Water division has already refurbished and expanded an existing water production plant in Nagpur, and has also begun work on improving the water distribution network in a pilot area to move from an intermittent to a continuous water supply.
