In the Netherlands there is a saying which freely translated would be "If
the mountain will not come to Mohammed (pbuh), Mohammed (pbuh) will go to
the mountain". 

I am sure you will be able to find out about them. I understand that there
are around 25,000 persons from Assam in Bangalore area. Assam Society
Bangalore may not have contact with all of them. I have come across their
name several times in the Assam Mailing list and different news papers. I
understand it was established in 1982 and they organise also Bihu festivals
in Bangalore. I read in the Assam Tribune that in the last Bihu celebration
they invited also Jubeen Garg to perform. So they must be a well-established
society. Even Hindu mentioned about their programme. About their opening of
Information centre in Assam, check The Telegraph of yesterday.
