Good to hear that you have come out unscathed. Gautam and family are still suffering lack of power and it may continue for a couple of weeks, that is what they say. And where are the photographs, by the way.

We just came back into civilization from a near complete shutdown - no
electricity, no internet, no TV, no phones (landlines), and the water
turning brown (as of yesterday) since Ike struck.
Had to keep charging the phone with the car charger, and we had cooking gas.
Looks like there is still a fuel shortage in Houston, but things are getting
better.

We got juiced early this AM, but we have to consider us a lot luckier (and
ought to stop complaining)  than many other Texans. I think more than 50% of
the homes in Houston are still without power.

We are otherwise fine.

Enjoy the photographs - these are some of the best  I have seen.
