That was some good information. How the US stifle any pro- consumer move affecting its big buiness: the real face of the not so democratic state. Also the information about connivance of the NAM leader in producing inhuman war accessories. 

We were taught that DHON GULOI is methane: swamp gas.  My science does not extend beyond intermediate. So I tried to put two and two together.

Gas for defoliation  : Not likely.

And Assam has no PetroChemicals  industry -Except for a tiny Methanol plant at Namrup.
Methanol is poison  if you ingest. It does burn however . In fact M85 (85% Methanol+15%Gasoline)was standard motor fuel in California for many years till banneed by Swaznegger on "Environmentally bad if spilled " alibi. Truth was Refineries did not loke this cheap fuel--and Bush told the Terminator to terminate. And Auto suppliers to USA were told-'Stop offering multifuel cars'.  Yes this could have been Methanol-caught flame from a spark.  Methanol Tanker Goods Wagon will be easy to open--not under Pressure.

Defoliant Gas ( produced by UnionCarbide in Bhopal was good Dollar earning export  Hush -Hush) to US- Vietnam war!-- well known to India Leadership  -killed/maimed/blinded how many in 1984?.
  For counter-insurgency?  That would have been INDIAN  Hara Kiri.

By the way  war the train travelling UP--to Upper Assam  or Down ?
