The Indian Security Forces have been planting stories regarding ULFA since the whole drama started... so it seems. After Subir Bhowmik's expose this is becoming clearer. Even the national media have taken some baits without cross-checking. What clearly emerges is that the Bangla Government, fearing opposition backlash, had tried to show that it was the Indian Security forces that apprehended the ULFA chairman and that the Bangla Govt had no role to play in this drama. That Mr Rajkhowa ( we do not know what is really in his mind) have not given up on the sovereignty issue was clear from day 1, as he was brought to Gauhati instead of Delhi. Instead of news or hard facts, we get disinformation and planted story and sensationalism all the time. Today it was funny to rediscover in a news item quoting highly placed security sources in The Assam Tribune that really read like the contents of Subir Bhowmik's troubled periphery with certain changes they do
 in Hindi Version of English Movies. Further, it can also be read between the lines that the part of ULFA that 'matters' are either not inclined for talks or not inclined to talk without the sovereignty issue, irrespective of what the pro-talk faction, if any, wants. I have a feeling that the Union Government knows the futilty of talks in such a situation and has taken a tough stance. Whichever way you look, the man in the street, whose interest is stated to be primary in the slogan mongering of all the players, has no role to play in this charade. We shall continue reading trash.
