Ram Da,

First off, you did not say anything on the list of twentieth century armed rebellion, armed revolts of which I sent a list. The most recent being the Nepali one. So much for obsolesecence.

Second, I said: "He asked me whether it was visible to me that north Indian business
communities are beginning to squeeze the Assamese with sheer money power and political clouts from the heart of Guwahati City.....when ULFA was strong they were no where to be seen."

You went tangentially on that. He was saying something literally. Land grabbing. Your thesis about Assamese in reins of power is a facade. If yes, then why the sense of alienation? Assam is apparently run by Tarun Gogoi; but this government is aiding and abetting land grabbing by moneyed people, ( most are North Indians) from the Assamese in Urban areas and on the highways. First, they offer you a price and then comes intimidation and sometimes killings. So, if Assam is being ruled by Assamese, then how is it happening? The only conclusion would be: The persons that rule speak Assamese; but they are emasculated by the money-power that is placing them into that position.

Moreover, whether the doctor saw the Bangladeshis coming is not known to me; but I see no reason why he would not. Unlike me, he was very active in AASU. So, there is no point in diverting the issue.

More later, as you usually say so:-)
