 The Gaza aid flotilla attack was a chilling escalation of what peace
advocates across Israel and Palestine are experiencing right now.

*Radical extremism is rising in Israel, trampling civil liberties and human
rights in the name of “national security”*. The foreign minister, elected on
an openly racist platform, is pushing dark new laws that revoke citizenship
for anyone who doesn't swear a loyalty oath, peaceful protesters are met
with police violence, and people (mainly Palestinians) are jailed without
charge. The media is under pressure, with some commentators alarmed at what
they see as creeping fascism. (see sources below)

*Many brave Israelis, including thousands of Avaaz members, are fighting for
their democracy* and for the rights of Jews and Palestinians, including an
end to the blockade and the occupation of Palestine. Israelis could help
