North East Social Trust (NEST, http://www.nestinfo.org/ ) is a Non-Profit Organization working
in the north eastern states of India for exploration of alternative
rural livelihood, strengthening institutions of local governance and
ensuring elementary education in the rural areas of the region.

 
The organization is registered as a Trust on 21st of October 2002 under the Act XVI of 1950 with the registration no 1340/352.
The head office of NEST is situated in the Dighalipam Village, Near Dichoi Chariali, Dergaon, Golaghat, Assam- 785614, India.

The Objects of the Trust (“Objects”) will include holistic development
of the communities of India with specific emphasis on the following
issues:


Socio-economic development of the people, more specifically youth
and women, through employment and income generation programmes.

Development of Education, Sports and Culture

Peace making

Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture and Veterinary     services.

Promotion of indigenous knowledge, cottage and village     industries

Industrial activities

Technology

Biodiversity, Environment and Disaster Management

Poverty alleviation with emphasis on women and children.


2. Any other activity that aids in the socio-economic development of the community.
