When we studied in Cotton Collegiate School, Guwahati, back in the early sixties, we were offered three lanuages for optional study - Arabic, Farsi and Sanskrit. A student could pick any. Latin was not offered.
I distinctly remember that the Arabic teacher (who also substituted in Assamese class) asked me if I would be interested in learning Arabic. Sanskrit won over Arabic and Farsi in my case. I also remember the same teacher describing his Id-ul-Fitr celebration and the meal in a class
without any hesitation, as it should be. Will it happen in today's India?
Out of curiosity, I poked the internet and found some interesting articles on Sanskrit and Muslim scholars. In the attachment I have posted three articles. Hope you also find them interesting and inspiring.
